Sophie – 1 year old female Cross-Breed

Sophie is a very loving and affectionate 1 year old small Cross Breed girl. She is ready for the next stage in her life to find a wonderful forever home who will love and cherish her and meet all her needs. Sophie was born to a stray dog in a cemetery and was fortunately found and rescued by a friend of ours who took her to the safety of Paws to Freedom – a shelter she had just opened near to where she lived in order to help these lovely lost souls, until she was ready to join us at Lea Valley Dog Rescue.

Sophie is a bright little dog and enjoys playing with her toys. She loves the interaction with you and will happily play and is a joy to watch. Sophie is also confident around other dogs and loves their company. Although she is little and only weighing in at 5Kg, this does not hold her back to make new friends big and small.

Sophie is a super friendly and affectionate girl and will make a lovely companion. She is still very young and will need to learn basic commands and training like walking nicely on a lead, so we suggest some puppy training classes which will also help build her confidence. She is a bright and responsive dog who will thrive on the attention and made to feel special and clever and will not take her long to forget about her not so good past and thrive in her loving new home.

As Sophie is still very young, she could easily be homed with another suitable resident doggy companion or be a single dog. She is looking for someone who is at home for most of the day but as she has not had any exposure to very young children we will not be looking to place her in a family with very young kids, but older respectful children will be fine. Sophie is good with people, dogs and cats.

Sophie is spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. She is currently in foster in North London. For home checking purpose, we favour applications from prospective adopters who reside in London or neighbouring counties, although we may consider enquiries from further afield for the right home.
