Betty – 2-3 year old female French Bulldog. She came to us as her owner was leaving the country, we were advised that she had been neutered and had no issues health wise at all. On arrival it was very obvious that poor little Betty had an issue with her sight. She has seen our vets and they have said that she is blind. She does not struggle and copes really well once she has mapped her way around the home, she can bump into things initially so a home with owners understanding of dogs with sight issues would be best.
She will need new owners who are around for a good part of the day as Betty is a real cuddle monster who is happiest on a lap, Betty must be re homed with at least one other dog as she does suffer with separation anxiety and the knowledge that there is another dog around has a very calming influence on her. She will need to be re homed without cats and small furries as despite not being able to see them she is aware they are around and she will search for them and chase.
Betty will be seeing her vets as she drinks a lot we need to make sure that this is just because she is not used to having access to regular fresh water. We will update her post as soon as she has been fully assessed by the vets and signed of as fit to be re homed. It would have made life so much easier for Betty if we had been told the truth when she came to us, just because a dog is old, unwell or needs extra help, doesn’t mean that we wouldn’t help – telling us just means we can ensure the dogs needs are met as soon as they come to us.
We will update Betty’s details as soon as we have further news from the vets. She is currently being fostered in London. Please go to our website and complete an application form. We reply to all applications, should you not receive a response within 48 hours then please email and we will be pleased to assist you. Home check and set donation applies.
