Chewy is a 11 month old male Pug. He came to us in very poor condition, it will take him some time to get back to a healthy weight and looking better. He is such a gentle sweet unassuming lad that he will make a wonderful companion for most homes. We would like new owners who are around for most of the day, he does love other dogs so could be homed either with or without another canine companion, he also takes no notice at all of the cats so would be fine to be re homed with friendly felines.
Chewy had an eye ulcer which had been left untreated for a prolonger period of time, this meant that there was nothing we could do to save his eye. He is now pain free and although he is not looking the prettiest his fur will grow back and it will not be as noticeable as it is currently. He will not require any further treatment for this. Obviously as he has only one eye remaining, his new owners will need to ensure good care is taken of his sight and that any minor issues are addressed straight away.
He is still very underweight and this will take time and patience to resolve fully. Chewy is being fed little and often and is doing amazingly well. We do not wish to discuss they why’s the when’s and the who. The main thing to focus on now is that he is doing amazingly, he is pain free and he will have the chance of a wonderful future. He is fine to be re homed with older children 10+, due to his feeding needs he must have owners around for most of the day.
Chewy has been neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped. He has also had his teeth cleaned and polished and his eye removed. Chewy is up to date with flea and worming treatments and is currently being fostered in Portsmouth.
